Breast Care Center

Professional care with a personal touch.

Now breast care is available with you in mind, you don’t need a doctor’s order, just call 430-4444 and schedule your appointment.  You will be comfortable in our cotton spa robes and our warm inviting lounge area, you’ll have extra comfort during your exam as we offer the Woman’s Touch® MammoPad®, and our experienced mammography technologist will provide you with compassion, respect and prompt service. The Breast Care Center is located at 711 South Ryan Street.

Important Tests for Women

In addition to screening examinations and tests, regular doctor visits give you and your doctor a chance to review your health concerns, your medical and immunization records, your risk of disease, and to discuss ways to lower those risks. Talk to your family doctor about your risk factors and what tests and exams are right for you.

This information provides general guidelines on screening tests for healthy adults. Your health care provider may recommend more or fewer screening tests, with greater or lesser frequency, based on a variety of factors. When in doubt, talk with your doctor!

CLINICAL BREAST EXAM
Women in their twenties and thirties should have a clinical breast exam (CBE) as part of a regular exam by a health expert preferably every three years. After age 40, women should have a breast exam by a health expert every year

It might be a good idea to have the CBE shortly before the mammogram. You can use the exam to learn what your own breasts feel like.

MAMMOGRAM
Women age 40 and older should have a mammogram every year and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health. While mammograms can miss some cancers, they are still a very good way to find breast cancer.
