Speech Pathology

Speech-language pathologists work with patients in the Physical Medicine Department and on an outpatient basis at the Speech and Hearing Center located at 1770 Engleside. They work to evaluate patients' current abilities and then design and implement treatment plans for them.

Among the disorders and injuries treated are swallowing disorders, dysarthria, aphasia and other disorders related to voice, fluency and cognitive problems. The staff also offers patient and family education in the appropriate use of communication devices and safe swallowing techniques.
