CHRISTUS St. Patrick Heartburn Center

Over 60 million Americans experience heartburn at least once a month and some 25 million experience daily heartburn. If you suffer from persistent pain, chronic heart burn, and have difficulty swallowing, you may have a disease known as GERD or gastroespohageal reflux disease–a condition that left untreated can result in serious medical complications. Ninety Percent of people who suffer from heartburn and GERD can benefit from medical management.

CHRISTUS St. Patrick Heartburn Center provides education and serves as a resource for chronic heartburn suffers and their physicians. The center offers a variety of treatment programs that include dietary management, medication and, when indicated, surgery.

Many people who suffer from heartburn and GERD never think their condition warrants care from a physician. The goal of the CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital Heartburn Center is to raise community awareness about the signs and symptoms of heartburn and GERD. Heightened awareness will benefit everyone participating—primary care physicians (PCP), specialists, the hospital, and most importantly, the patients, who will get the level of care they need.

For more information call the Center at 430-GERD (4373).
